Celebrities are used to having their photo taken – but these pictures certainly weren’t meant for the public eye. Which stars have had their private nude photos leaked online? Click “Next” to find out.

Vanessa Williams

Taking place before the days of social media, Vanessa Williams’ nude photo scandal still rocked the early days of her career, costing her the Miss America crown in 1984. Pressured to resign over the photos, Vanessa sued Penthouse’s Bob Guccione for $500,000,000 for publishing the nudie pics without her consent. The ‘Ugly Betty’ star eventually dropped the suit, declaring that the “best revenge is success.” Not only did Vanessa go on to have a successful career in music, television, and film, she received an apology at the 2016 Miss America event from CEO Sam Haskell for her forced resignation 31 years ago. #winning

Dylan Sprouse

Former Disney star Dylan Sprouse found himself at the center of a nude photo scandal when an angry ex leaked some very revealing pics of the star.  Dylan did his best to laugh off the snaps, one of which featured him full frontal and completely nude.  His identical twin Cole got in on the joke tweeting, “@dylansprouse Cold in that bathroom huh?” prompting Dylan to respond, “.@colesprouse Love you too. At least you can’t see my third testicle.”  Making the best of a bad situation, the Dylan Sprouse admitted he “messed up” and managed to show off his sense of humor.

Vanessa Hudgens

In 2007, Vanessa Hudgens was on top of the world.  She launched her career by starring in Disney’s High School Musical series, and was in a relationship with her hunky co-star, Zac Efron.  However, when nude photos were hacked from her Gmail account and made public, the actress embarked on what she calls the most challenging time in her rise to fame. “That was just a really s***ty situation that sucked.  That was by far the worst moment of my career.”

Chris Brown

Chris Brown found himself embroiled in a nude photo scandal in 2011, after images of the then-21 year old singer taking a naked selfie in front of a mirror were released to the public.  The pictures were reportedly leaked by a vengeful ex-girlfriend, and not Chris himself, as some rumors suggested.  “Let me be honest with you,” the singer said, “I didn’t want to put no pictures out; that’s not my intention…For me, I was always a singer, so unless I’m planning on trying to do porn, I don’t think I’d want to just leak my wang out to the world before my album comes out.”

Jennifer Lawrence

As one of the most prominent actresses in the 2014 celebrity photo hacking scandal, Jennifer had some choice words for those who leaked her private nude photos to the masses.  “Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this.  It does not mean that it comes with the territory.  It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it’s not my choice is disgusting.  I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world… It’s not a scandal.  It’s a sex crime.  it’s a sexual violation.  It’s disgusting.”  Preach!

Heather Morris

Heather Morris managed to take her nude photo scandal in stride – something that perhaps helped the whole ordeal disappear from the headlines pretty quickly.  The Glee star had some of her earlier professional modeling photos make their way to the public, which showed the actress in the buff.  Not making a fuss over their release, Heather said, “I understand completely where it came from.  For me, I think they are beautiful.  It’s not something I’m ashamed of.  Everybody should do tasteful nudes, so when you get older you’re gonna be like, ‘Oh, that’s when my body looked so great!’”

Kate Upton

No stranger to risqué photo shoots, Kate Upton became the center of a nude photo scandal after intimate personal photos of the model were hacked, and shared with the public.  Since Kate regularly poses in various stages of undress, some fans commented that she shouldn’t be too upset over the leaked nudes.  Sparking a much-needed dialogue about victim blaming and consent, Kate was rightfully outraged and her legal team made their intentions clear.  “We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.”

Brett Favre

Following his 20-year career in the NFL, the celebrated quarterback found himself in the center of a nude photo scandal.  Brett was investigated in 2010 for sexting and leaving inappropriate messages for Jets ‘Gameday’ host, Jenn Sterger during the 2008 season.  The messages and photos were shared with the public, resulting in plenty of embarrassing headlines for the married father and grandfather.  Though Favre was found not to be in violation of the league’s personal conduct policy, he was fined $50,000 for not cooperating with their investigation.

Kate Middleton

Using an extra long lens, some unscrupulous photographers were able to catch an unsuspecting Kate Middleton sunbathing topless while vacationing in Provence with her husband.  Although no publisher in the UK opted to purchase the photos, French magazine ‘Closer’ did print the snaps, sparking outrage in the British media and a criminal investigation.  Following the release of the intimate photos the Cambridge’s spokesperson said, “Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and unjustifiable manner…It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.”
